Partners for Improving Student Learning through Faculty Development
The IDeL team has one principal goal: to improve student learning by encouraging a pedagogically sound and scholarly use of instructional technology. To meet that goal, we work closely with several partners around campus.
Faculty Teaching and Learning Center
The Pew Faculty Teaching and Learning Center was founded in 1995 to support the University's goal of teaching excellence. Through workshops, individual consultations, and resources the FTLC meets the needs of individual faculty and seeks to build a community around teaching and learning. The FTLC and its advisory committee also oversee the University-wide award for teaching excellence.
Emerging Technologies Showcase
Grand Valley's Technology Showcase provides faculty, staff, and students with an interactive and engaging environment to discover, learn, and share how innovative emerging technologies can enhance teaching and improve student learning at GVSU. Throughout the year the showcase will highlight a wide variety of technologies while special events and speakers will provide opportunities for the faculty and students to become aware of the potential of technology to transform education.
University Libraries
The Grand Valley State University Libraries are the heart of the campus and enrich the educational mission of the university by actively promoting intellectual growth and discovery. The libraries support student learning and faculty development through robust partnerships and innovative educational programming.
Faculty Partners
We strongly believe that faculty benefit from hearing how other faculty have integrated technology into their teaching. IDeL workshops regularly feature faculty co-presenters who demonstrate best practices and the innovative use of instructional technology.
