Gender Justice House
Gender Justice House
Mission: As a Living Learning Community on Grand Valley State University’s campus, the Gender Justice House (GJH) seeks to cultivate a community of students who are investing in the exploration of themselves in order to actively work towards gender justice.
The Gender Justice House (GJH) is for Grand Valley students interested in social justice; women, gender, and sexuality studies, LGBTQ studies, service learning; and campus leadership. GJH is open to all students and is located on the first floor of the VanSteeland Living Center. Students living in GJH will gain a progression in understanding one's positionality, privilege, and personal identity; develop an awareness of social justice and inclusion issues; interact on a personal level with faculty and staff; engage in service learning and gender justice related issues; and connect with upper-class peer mentors who are leaders on campus.
For more information, please contact Living Center Director Jay Chapa via email (chapaje@gvsu.edu) or by calling (616) 331-2120 .
