What is Links U?
In the fall of 2012, Grand Valley State University (GVSU) introduced an innovative peer program called Campus Links. To better support the growing number of students who identify as neurodiverse, the program has evolved into what is now Links U. The program is designed to promote inclusivity for students with neurodiversity. The Links U program provides peer to peer connections, academic support, and structured social supports. Links U Peers help students adjust to new environments and routines more quickly in the hopes participants will have a more fulfilling and enriching college experience.
What are the goals of Links U?
- Retain neurodiverse students, seeking undergraduate degrees.
- Facilitate a positive academic environment
- Respond to the individualized needs of the students
- Support faculty members with resources to assist in the classroom
- Foster a greater level of inclusion and sense of belonging for neurodiverse Grand Valley students.
