In-Ae Ha, piano

Recently winning 3rd prize at the Epinal International Piano Competition and Leoa Janá
ek International Competition in Brno, In-Ae Ha is acclaimed as a passionate pianist, lauded for her "new and radiant interpretation, brilliant virtuosity, and driving energy" according to the Chosun Newspaper Concert Review. She has performed in venues such as Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall, Van Cliburn Concert Hall, Besední dom of Filharmonie Brno, La Raxotonde Thaon les Vosges, Tokyo University of Arts Concert Hall, Seoul Arts Center, Kumho Art Hall, and the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.

In-Ae began her musical studies at the age of four in Kentucky and was recognized for her talent when she appeared on the NPR's classical music program "From the Top" at the age of 10. She won 2nd prize at the Chopin Youth Piano Competition, won the Louisville Orchestra Young Artist Competition and Cincinnati Young Artist Concerto Competition. She performed with the Clermont Philharmonic Orchestra and the Louisville Orchestra and was invited to give recitals at Comstock Concert Hall and the Center Theatre of University of Kentucky. After returning to Korea, In-Ae made her debut at Kumho Art Hall in the Prodigy Concert Series at the age of 14. She won the 6th International Piano Competition of Korea, Grand Prize at the Eumak Journal Competition of Korea, and was Finalist at the Seoul Arts Center Music Academy and Competition.

In-Ae has been featured in numerous recital performances across Korea, including notable appearances such as the Chosunilbo Debut Concert series at Sejong Chamber Hall in Seoul, The House Concert Series July Festival, and the Rising Star Concert Series at Hermann Art Hall, presented by MOC Production. This upcoming Spring, In-Ae will present solo recitals at venues such as Steinway Hall at Steinway Gallery Detroit, University of Michigan, JCC Art Center Concert Hall in Seoul, and as part of the esteemed Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series produced by Classical Music Chicago. Additionally, she has been invited to participate in the 2024 Gilmore Piano Festival Fellowship and Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Art of Piano Program in July 2024.

In-Ae has received master classes from renowned musicians such as Ruth Slenczynska, Peter Ovtcharov, Dong-Il Han, Hae-sun Paik, Edward Auer, Ronan O'hora, Christopher Elton, Klaus Hellwig, Vladimir Feltsman, Phillip Kawin, Robert Hamilton, Peter Ostrovsky, Alexandre Moutouzkine, and Vadim Kholodenko. She has participated in Festivals such as Piano Texas International Festival and Academy, Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival, Piano Summer at SUNY New Paltz, Mozarteum International Summer Academy, and the Indiana University Young Artist Academy.

In-Ae attained both her bachelor's and master's degrees at the Korea National University of Arts, studying under the guidance of Minsoo Sohn and Daejin Kim. Following the completion of her second master's degree at the University of Michigan, she is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree while being appointed as Graduate Student Instructor which provides funding for tuition during the full length of the program. She is under the tutelage of Arthur Greene, who has shaped and inspired the artist she is today.

Born in Seoul, Korea but raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Ha returns to Kentucky frequently to share music with her community whenever she is back home from Ann Arbor, where she is currently based.
