Adjunct instructor of voice, Corie's teaching combines voice science
& exercise physiology to enable singers to build their most
efficient, expressive instrument.
In addition to her work with GVSU, Corie is a co-founder of the
Grand Rapids Voice Collective, a collaborative training collective for
young musical theater artists. Her students have been accepted to
programs like Interlochen School of the Arts, University of Michigan,
Shenandoah Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, University of Oklahoma,
and Ithaca College.
She has presented at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching
Excellence, currently serves as the vice president of the National
Association of Teachers of Singing (Michigan district), and was a 2021
NATS Intern Program participant.
An active performer, she has appeared with companies like Utah
Festival Opera & Musical Theater, Opera Grand Rapids, Jacksonville
Symphony Orchestra, and Cedar Rapids Opera.
