PCEC Faculty Honored for their Achievements at Faculty Awards Convocation

It was a joy to celebrate the many achievements of PCEC faculty members at this year's Faculty Awards Convocation!

Dr. Robert Adams received the Glenn A. Niemeyer Award. Faculty selected for this award are honored for their excellence, enthusiasm and loyalty to teaching, scholarship and service. They have a superior student-centered approach to teaching with continued development of excellence in the classroom that instills students with a love of learning. They create new knowledge and explore its applications through scholarly activity. They also contribute their expertise and service to the University, professional organizations, and/or the community.

Dr. Ana Posada received the Burch, Jacobs, and Moore Diversity Teaching Excellence Award. This award recognizes faculty whose teaching advances and encourages inclusive excellence within the GVSU community by contributing to a climate of inclusion, fostering awareness of diversity issues, and promoting cultural competence.

Dr. Nicholas Baine received the Pew Teaching Excellence Award. Faculty selected for this award inspire students across the disciplines by using multiple approaches in classroom and laboratory instruction, stimulating intellectual curiosity in students, staying current in their discipline, and demonstrating commitment to student learning.

Dr. Shirley Fleischmann received a 30 Years of Service Award for her continued dedication to student instruction at GVSU.
