1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
When I graduated from GVSU, I landed a position working at the
American Cancer Society, helping to organize their Making Strides
Against Breast Cancer events. Shortly after working there, I continued
working in the nonprofit sector as a Campaign Manager for the Seattle
Big Climb in Washington state. While I loved my time living in
Seattle, I ended up in Reno, Nevada as a Program Manager for the
Alumni Relations department at the University of Nevada, Reno. Working
in Alumni Relations has brought me a unique perspective in wanting to
support my own Alma Mater! I love living so close to Lake Tahoe and
getting to experience everything the area has to offer.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
I was sitting in Devos C prepping for class and T. Haas happened
to be passing through. He stopped in the middle of the walkway and
yelled, "Good luck on your finals, Lakers!" and continued on
his way. Devos went nuts - everyone started clapping.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Something I always try to keep in mind is "Comparison is the
thief of joy." Stemming from a hospitality background, there are
so many amazing careers that my classmates have landed in and each one
is unique. It's been really fun to watch everyone thrive and grow.
Also, having classmates all over the country makes it great for making connections.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Exciting Inspirational Impactful
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I thrive in an environment where people are following their
passions and hope to help others do the same.
