Spotlights
Kristina Pepelko '12 & '19
Employer
Communications Manager, Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation
1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
Since graduating in 2012, I pursued a variety of professional
roles in the areas of writing, editing, and communications across
nonprofit and business sectors. Then, in 2016, I came back to GVSU for
my Master's degree. After receiving my MPA, I have been working in the
nonprofit sector and serving clients through my own creative services business.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
My favorite Grand Valley memories were made by being a part of
student organizations, especially the Humane Society of Grand Valley
and the Student Environmental Coalition. By participating in these
organizations, I felt connected to something bigger than my studies
and met lots of wonderful people, including friends I still have today.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
If there's something you really want to do, just start. You'll
figure out what you need to along the way.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Achievement, friendship, creativity
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I'd like to know that I've added joy and delight to the world and
that I've helped advance a more equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and
humane society.
