1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
I graduated with my Master's in Healthcare Administration with an
emphasis in Long-term care in 2020. I had been working as a Business
office manager for a skilled nursing company. I then moved into an
Administrator role and passed my Licensed Nursing Home administrator
exam in Fall 2020. After working as a LNHA for about a year I got
promoted to a Senior Administrator where I supported other
Administrators and then promoted to an Executive Director within the
same company. I am now the Executive Director of a brand new senior
living campus expected to open April 2024!
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
My favorite memory in my master's program was one of the first
weeks we had a panel night where other executives in the field talked
to us about their career paths. This truly inspired me to want to be
an Administrator and pursue a career in senior living.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Always set boundaries. It is not healthy nor does it put you
above others to work your life away and be at work 24/7. A good
executive and leader can set those boundaries and have a good
work-life balance.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Challenging Growing experience Motivational
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I would love to be able to impact society on the importance of
senior living and truly show the benefits of it instead of the
negativity that surrounds "nursing homes" or senior living communities.
