1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
I started out working as a nurse on a neurology floor at Spectrum
Health. I taught many nursing clinical rotations for GVSU as a
clinical instructor. I then continued my nursing career at Mary Free
Bed. After years of working in the hospital and helping all my
co-workers with financial investing questions, I realized that was my
true passion. So now I am a financial advisor working with Fiduciary
Financial Advisors here in Grand Rapids.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
Playing pick-up sand volleyball in Robinson field and walking
under the blue transformational link backwards, I don't believe in
superstitions ha.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
"The teacher learns more than the student, the author learns
more than the reader, the speaker learns more than the attendee. The
way to learn is by doing!" -James Clear
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand Valley experience.
Eye-opening, Enjoyable, Expeditious
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I want to help young people understand how powerful time can be
when dealing with compound interest. Teaching them how investing and
owning assets allows them to earn compound interest, instead of owning
debt and paying compound interest.
