1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
It’s taken a while to get where I am now. Directly after
graduation, I went and got my master's degree in world history. I had
a few cool jobs, but I knew there was something better out there.
Thanks to one of my professors at Grand Valley, I have my current job
and I love it!
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
There are so many. Just in general though, all of the
organizations that I was a member of made my time at Grand Valley well
worth it. Whether it was supporting the sports teams at their games as
a member of the marching band, or traveling the country with
alternative breaks, those memories will last forever.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Good things take time. I never imagined that it would’ve been
such a difficult road but I’m better for it.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Exciting, fun, irreplaceable.
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
As a teacher, my goal is that every one of my students finds
their passion, whether it’s inside my classroom or not. However, I
just want them to have a safe space every day. I tell them every day,
“I need you here with me. I want you here with me.” If that helps them
forget about their lives outside of school or whatever may be going
on, I’ve made a difference.
