1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
I graduated from GVSU in May of 2010 and immediately began
working for an Early Childhood center, as a Lead School Age teacher.
From there I moved into Early Childhood Administration, where I stayed
until the end of 2021. My husband bought a company in 2018, and in
2021, I was able to utilize my education and experiences with his
company as our Office Manager and Human Resources Manager. I don't
work with children at the moment, as I am happy to help grow our own
business, but maybe one day, I will get back to working with children.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
My first football game as a student was so much fun! The buzz and
excitement in the student section was something to behold and it was empowering!
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Take flight, for life, is meant to be an adventure! Also, start
saving for retirement as soon as possible!
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Well-rounded, non-traditional, and fun
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I want to be an example of someone who accepts everyone and
embraces differences. I hear and see so much intolerance and
small-mindedness and I want to show others that we can be different,
that we can think opposite, but we can be accepting and respectful. I
want those around me to know that I will be their advocate!
