Scholarships
The Ross W. Perry Bachelor of Science/Core Sciences Major Scholarship is for biology, biomedical sciences, geology, chemistry, mathematics, or physics majors, enrolled full-time at GVSU and entering their junior year. The applicants must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA and must demonstrate financial need.
The Scott Bleiler Physics Memorial Scholarship is for physics majors enrolled at GVSU for 12 credit hours or more and who are meeting satisfactory academic progress. Preference will be given to students with a physical disability.
The William "Bill" W. Idema Physics Scholarship is for junior or senior physics majors enrolled at GVSU. They must have a cumulative GPA of a 3.2 or higher and must be maintaining satisfactory academic progress. Preference will be given to candidates from Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon and Allegan counties.
The Goldwater Scholarship is a national scholarship for sophomore or junior students intending to pursue a research career in a natural science, mathematics or engineering. They must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00, and be a U.S. citizen from the 50 states or the District of Columbia; a U.S. national for those students nominated by institutions in Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; or a permanent resident.
