Position Description

We are hiring 5 members to be a part of the Club Sport Council for this upcoming 24-25 academic school year.

This position is required to attend bi-weekly meetings and complete additional assignments and tasks as assigned and that are related to your chair position. 

5 Club Sport Council Chair Positions that we are hiring for:

1. Funding Committee Chair
   1. Will help organize and facilitate funding meetings
   2. Additional volunteers will be on this committee be this person will help lead them
   3. Someone that will help support teams in preparing funding requests, presenting them as needed, and help guide the committee conversations
2. Banquet and Awards Chair
   1. Managing year round nomination form
   2. Planning banquet
   3. Organizing and presenting (to council) award nominations and voting
3. Recruitment/Outreach Chair
   1. Promoting any all club events
   2. Helping assist with any program recruiting events
   3. Generating ideas to foster more sense of belonging within club sports
4. Development/Leadership Chair
   1. Generating ideas for leadership and development opportunities for eboards and teams
   2. Helping facilitate any program development and/or bonding events
5. Advocate Chair
   1. Recruiting other leaders
   2. Managing communication avenues
   3. Survey creation support

This position reports to the Club Sports Coordinator.

Qualifications

• GVSU Student for Fall ‘24 and Winter ‘25 semesters
• Be an active member of a GVSU club sport team
• Holding an E-board position is preferred but not required
• Attending trainings and meetings as required

Responsibilities

• Advise Club Sports staff on trends and concerns that are affecting the entire club sports program
• Act as advocates to other club sports students 
• Oversight of Club Sports Funding Committee
  1. Additional volunteers to supplement
• Program wide support
  1. Club Sports Awards/Banquet
  2. Development opportunities
  3. Recruiting events
• Complete the tasks and duties of the chair position you are assigned too
• Potential secondary functions
  1. Club sports bonding/all club events

Student Wage Rates:

​​​Each member is paid a stipend of $500 per semester. Appointment is for entire academic year.
