Position Description

This position works between 10-20 hours per week. Main responsibilities include execution and management of game operations of club sport home events. This position reports to the Club Sports Coordinator.

Qualifications

• GVSU Student for Fall ‘24 and Winter ‘25 semesters
• CPR / First Aid Certified (provided if hired).
• Strong organization, time management and communication skills
• Ability to work well with others, as an individual and as part of a team.
• Background in sports, recreation and/or related field.
• Attending trainings, meetings, and in-services are required.
• Appearance must be professional. Workers are required to wear staff-issued/approved attire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup, operation, and tear down of events.
• Help visiting teams and officials to and from their locker room and field/court.
• Carry out assigned role for each game which could include but not limited to: scoreboard operator, shot clock operator, stat book keeper, etc.
• Complete necessary forms and documentation correctly and without errors  
• Follow all, and assist with enforcement of all Recreation and Wellness policies. 
• Maintain the professional standard for delivery of all programs 
• Other duties as assigned.
• Also looking for individuals with experience in communications, live streaming production, announcing, and stat-keeping experience.

Student Wage Rates:

Hourly rate for Event Managers is $10.58-10.88. 

Hourly rate for Event Supervisors is $11.53. 

SPM 390 & 490 applicable. There is opportunity for volunteer hours in office too for those who want and need the experience for internship credit.
