Wellness is a conscious, self-directed and evolving process of
achieving full potential. How do you actively pursue your wellness?
I have been granted several opportunities to learn, grow, and
intrinsically motivate myself in the tenant of wellness. To me,
wellness is never ending, which is why I have always pursued new
learning opportunities to further understand the various pieces of
wellness. Aside from learning, I am passionate about taking care of
and listening to my body whether it be through exercise or resting
when it is needed. I am also actively engaged in paying attention to
my mental health.
What do you do to take care of yourself when you are feeling
stressed or overwhelmed?
As a graduate student, stress seems to be fairly constant,
especially with the current state of COVID-19. While it has been
difficult, whenever I am feeling overwhelmed, I make it a priority to
do something for myself that will boost my mood, or will be good for
my body and mind. I enjoy listening to music, or my favorite podcasts.
I also release a lot of any built up emotions at the gym or through my workouts.
What motivates you to be well and stay healthy?
Being well and staying healthy is a major part of who I am. I
want to continuously strive to be well (both mentally and physically)
so I can be the best person I can be for me, for a future spouse, and
for my future children.
