Celebrating the accomplishments of alumni is rewarding for the Seidman College of Business as well as its honorees. Following are the outstanding Seidman alumni who have been recognized and their accomplishments at the time of recognition.

Jeff Gustinis: Career Achievement. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from GVSU in 1995.

Kevin Patterson: Career Achievement. Kevin earned his Master of Science in Accounting from GVSU in 2005 and his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from GVSU in 2004.

Brian Diephuis: Career Achievement. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science from GVSU in 1986.

Laurie Sayed: Professional Achievement. Laurie earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2003. 

Carl Hendrickson: Career Achievement. Carl earned his Bachelor of Science from GVSU in 1975 and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1977.

Nicole McConnell: Professional Achievement. Nicole earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2002 and her Master of Business Administration in 2005.

David Collado: Entrepreneurship. David earned his Master of Science in Accounting from GVSU in 2008.

Michael Stornant: Career Achievement. Michael earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from GVSU in 1988.

Rabih Jamal: Up and Coming Professional Award. Rabih earned his Bachelor of Software Engineering at University of Michigan in 2004 and his M.B.A from GVSU in 2011.

Alan Van Noord: Career Achievement. Alan earned his B.B.A. from Calvin in 1972 and his M.B.A. from GVSU in 1978.

Ryan Slusarzyk: Up and Coming. Ryan earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 2008 from GVSU.

Curt Pullen: Career Achievement. Curt earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1984 from GVSU.

Mark Olesnavage: Lifetime Achievement. Mark earned his B.B.A. in 1975 and his M.B.A. in 1980 both from GVSU.

Trevor Pawl: Up and Coming. Trevor earned his B.B.A from GVSU in 2005 and his M.B.A. from University of Detroit Mercy in 2011.

Ray Bennett: Career Achievement. Ray earned his B.B.A. in 1992 from GVSU.

Brandon Reame: Distinguished Early-Career. Brandon earned his B.B.A. in 2009 from GVSU.

Scott Setlock: Up and Coming. Scott earned his B.B.A. in 2004 and his M.B.A. in 2010, both from GVSU.

Amy Sparks: Leadership Achievement. Amy earned her B.B.A. in 1995 from GVSU and her M.B.A. from University of Michigan in 2013.

Daniel L. Carter:  Alumnus of the Year.  Daniel earned his B.S. in Accounting in 1977 from Valparaiso University and his M.S.T. in 1984 from GVSU.

Frank D. Foster:  Up and Coming.  Frank earned a B.B.A. in 2009 from GVSU.

Barry Klein: Alumnus of the Year.  Barry earned his B.B.A. in 1988 from GVSU and his MBA from University of Michigan in 2006.

John H. Bultema III: Professional Achievement. John earned his B.B.A. in Finance in 1995 from GVSU and his M.B.A. 2002 from Western Michigan University.

Pastor Dennis J. McMurray: Community Commitment Award. Dennis earned his B.B.A. in Marketing in 1985 from GVSU.

Bradley Knoth: Successful Entrepreneur Award.  Bradley earned his B.B.A. in General Business with a Marketing minor from GVSU in 1989.

Dixie Anderson: Professional Achievement Award.  Dixie earned her B.S. in 1972 and her M.B.A. in 1978, both from GVSU.

Beverly Wall: Professional Achievement Award. Languages International. Beverly earned her B.S.B.A from Aquinas College in 1983 and her M.B.A. in 1987 from GVSU.

Brian Small: Up and Coming Professional Award. Whirlpool Corporation. Brian earned his B.B.A. in 2005 from GVSU and his M.B.A. in 2011 from MSU.

Gordon Oosting: Professional Achievement Award. Senior Vice President, Mercantile Bank. Gordon earned his B.B.A. in 1972 and his M.B.A. in 1986, both from GVSU.

John R. Green: Professional Achievement Award. President, Medical Business Unit, Oliver Products. John earned his B.S. in Geography in 1975 from University of Colorado Boulder and his M.B.A. in 2002 from GVSU.

Phil Koning: Professional Achievement Award. CEO Macatawa Bank. Phil earned his B.S. in Finance in 1976 and his M.B.A. in 1980, both from GVSU.

Jason L. Paulateer: Up and Coming Professional Award. Executive Director, National City Community Development Association of Michigan. Jason earned his B.B.A. in 1996 and his M.B.A. in 2005, both from GVSU.

Kathleen B. Vogelsang: Professional Achievement Award. Director of Investments, Van Andel Institute. Kathleen received her B.B.A. Magna Cum Laude in 1995 and her M.B.A. in 1999, both from GVSU.

Dick H. VanBelzen: Distinguished Career. Managing Director, Northpoint Advisors. Dick received his B.B.A. in 1978 from GVSU.

James Gillette: Professional Achievement Award. Director of Supplier Analysis, CSM Worldwide and Adjunct Professor in the Finance Department.  James earned his B.S. in Sociology in 1969 and his M.B.A. in 1981, both from GVSU.

Victor Shepherd, Jr.: Outstanding Entrepreneur Award. Chairman and CEO of the Iserv Company in Grand Rapids. Victor also serves on the Grand Valley State University Foundation Board of Trustees.  He earned his B.B.A. in 1980 from GVSU.

Dennis Betten: Community Commitment Award.  Dennis earned his B.B.A. in 1981 from GVSU.

Gary Tilkin: Successful Entrepreneur Award.

Dennis Hoffman: Professional Achievement Award.  Dennis earned his B.A. in Math and Economics in 1974 from GVSU and his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from MSU.

Robert Bockheim: Professional Achievement Award. President and CEO of Nucraft Furniture. Robert earned his B.B.A. in 1976 and his M.B.A. in 1982 from GVSU.

Anita Hollander: Ph.D., Distinguished Career Award. Carnegie Pew Scholar and visiting faculty at University of Tennessee-Knoxville and University of Tulsa. Anita earned her B.B.A. in 1981 from GVSU and her PhD in 1987 from University of Tennessee.

Shelley Huard (Clark): Up and Coming Professional Award. International Sales & Product Coordinator at Wolverine Worldwide. Shelley earned her B.B.A. in 1998 from GVSU and her M.M. in 2003 from Aquinas College.

Patrick Brewer and Jeffrey Brewer: Successful Next Generation Family Business. Patrick is President and Owner, and Jeffrey is CEO and Owner of Grandville Printing Co. They received their business degrees in 1977 and 1975, respectively.

Laurie Beard: Professional Achievement Award. President and CEO of Founders Trust Personal Bank. Laurie earned her B.S. Economics in 1973 and her M.B.A. in 1981 from Grand Valley.

Doyle Hayes: Community Service Award. President and CEO of Pyper Products. Doyle received his B.S. in Economics in 1975 from GVSU.

Juanita Briggs: Outstanding Entrepreneur Award. President of four companies serving the furniture industry, Valor Industries, Integricoat, Inc., Valor Boxes, Inc., and Valor-Nicholas, Inc., Juanita earned her B.B.A. in 1992 from Grand Valley.

Kalyn Redlowsk: Up and Coming Professional Award. Kalyn received her B.B.A. in 1998 from Grand Valley and graduated in 2002 Magna Cum Laude from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University.

Bill Smith: Outstanding Entrepreneur Award. Bill started 2 local companies, currently serving as the President of the CompuCraft, Inc. Bill earned his B.B.A. in 1980 and his M.B.A. in 1985 from GVSU.

Diane DeVries (Rodenhouse): Non-Traditional Achievement Award. Diane owns and operates Rodenhouse Body Shop while serving as President and Chairman of the Board of the West Michigan Body Shop Association. Diane received her B.S. in Economics in 1991 from GVSU.

John Folkert: Up and Coming Accomplishments. John is a top salesperson with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. John earned his B.B.A. in 1993 from GVSU.

Ray De Winkle: Outstanding Community Service Award. Ray is the Vice President of The Right Place, Inc. He received his B.B.A. in 1998 from GVSU.

Sharon Buursma: Outstanding Distinguished Career. Sharon is Executive Vice President at Spectrum Health and former President and CEO at Visiting Nurse Association of Western Michigan. Sharon earned her B.B.A. in Nursing from MSU and her M.B.A. in 1990 from GVSU.

Sharron Reynolds: Community Commitment. Sharron is the Director for the Office of Stewardship and Communications for the Diocese of Grand Rapids. She earned her M.B.A. in 1993 from GVSU.

Peter Mayhak: Young Alumnus. Peter is President and CEO of n Vision/USA. He earned his B.B.A.in 1991 from GVSU.

Steve Peterson: Professional Achievement. Steve is the Vice President of Finance and CFO of Cascade Engineering. He was awarded his M.B.A. degree in 1979 from GVSU.

Tim Morris: Outstanding Entrepreneur. Tim is President and CEO of Exhibit Design, and graduated with his B.B.A. in 1988 from GVSU.

Frank Nagy: Distinguished Career. Frank is President and CEO of Strategic Insights, Inc. He received his M.B.A. in 1983.

Valerie Overheul: Valerie is the founder and CEO of Summit Training Source. She received her B.B.A. with a major in marketing, with honors, in 1977 from GVSU.

Vicki TenHaken: Vice President of the Home Office Division at Herman Miller. She received her B.A. in Communication from Hope College and her M.B.A. in 1980 from GVSU.

John Marquis: He received his B.A. in Political Science from Brown University and his M.S.T. in 1984 from GVSU.

Mary Jo Braun: Vice President of Corporate Planning at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company in Detroit. She received her M.B.A. in 1977.

Doug Crim: Managing Partner at Miller, Canfield, Paddock, and Stone, P.L.C., where he also serves as both environmental counselor and litigator. He received his B.B.A. in 1981 from GVSU and his JD Summa Cum Laude in 1985 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Joe Snowden: President of Cannon-Muskegon Corporation. He received his M.B.A. in 1991 from GVSU.

The 1996 Outstanding Alumni were members of the first Seidman graduating class, the M.B.A. class of 1975. This was the first year outstanding alumni were recognized at a banquet hosted by the newly formed Seidman Alumni Association.

Wayne Kramer: Wayne is Chief Internal Auditor and Compliance Officer of Ka Wah Bank.

Ron LaMange: Ron is Controller and CFO of Burke Porter Machinery.

Henry Veenstra: Henry is President of Zeeland Hospital.

Tom Werkema: Tom is Director of Regulatory Affairs, Industrial Chemical Group for Autochem North America, Inc.
