Bishal is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Grand Valley State University, where he teaches intermediate financial accounting at the undergraduate level and financial statement analysis at the graduate level. His research focuses on empirical-archival studies in financial accounting, particularly exploring the causes and consequences of corporate disclosure.
He has published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Accounting & Finance, Accounting Research Journal, and Managerial Finance. In addition to his research contributions, Bishal is an engaged member of the academic community, serving as an ad-hoc reviewer for prominent journals such as Management Science, Accounting & Finance, Banking and Finance Review, and American Business Review.
Since 2021, he has been serving as the Session Chair for the American Accounting Association (AAA) Diversity Section and as the Midwest Regional Coordinator, actively promoting diversity within the accounting profession.
