Women in Business Summer Reading Program
May 11, 2021
Join the Seidman Women in Business (WIB) group for the Summer 2021 Reading program! Cultivate your love of reading, develop professional growth, and network with like-minded Seidman students.
We will have a Zoom kick off this month on Thursday, 5/20 and Saturday 5/22 at 4 pm to network and go over the book logistics and Q&As.
There are three AWESOME reads this summer:
June book: The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy (a short and sweet little book with 176 pages that emphasizes the power of consistency and its powerful payoff, not only in a financial-sense but also in life and success). This book will be discussed via zoom on Thursday, 6/17 and Saturday 6/19 from 4 pm to 5 pm, but you only need to attend one discussion per book.
July book: Design Your Life by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans (a fast read with many call-to-action suggestions for students to explore and develop their strengths and passion in life). This book will be discussed via zoom on Thursday, 7/15 and Saturday, 7/17 from 4 pm to 5 pm, but you only need to attend one discussion per book.
August book: David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell (an inspiring read of how the underdogs and misfits can triumph and the silver lining of disadvantages). This book will be discussed via zoom on Thursday, 8/19 and Saturday, 8/21 from 4 pm to 5 pm, but you only need to attend one discussion per book.
HOW TO SIGNUP: Email WIB Faculty Advisor Thuy Simpson at [email protected]. Click here to see the full flyer.
P.S.: There will be NO out of pocket expense for those who participate in the program. Books are accessed for FREE via GVSU libraries and/or provided complimentarily. However, space is limited so early sign up is strongly recommended.
