We're Hiring! Accounting - Affiliate Faculty of Practice

Position: One-year renewable, non-tenure track, Accounting – Affiliate Faculty of Practice position beginning Fall 2020. Initial appointment for one-year, with potential for one-year renewal for a second year, with potential subsequent three-year renewable appointments, dependent upon department need.
Required Qualifications:
- M.S.A. or Master’s degree (or higher) in a related field by August 2020.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Evidence of professional engagement with non-profit or business community.
- Exhibited potential to maintain faculty qualifications, including applied research.
- Candidates must be committed to GVSU’s vision of inclusion and equity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent candidates in any related field will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in areas of teaching needs.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
- Substantial industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Responsibilities:
- Typical teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year with a possible three (3) credit reassignment of time to meet AACSB required research and service responsibilities.
- Effective teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels (MSA, MBA & EMBA), with most likely teaching needs for 2020-2021 to include accounting ethics, international accounting, and intermediate financial accounting. Provide service to the department, college, university, and community commensurate with rank and college accreditation requirements.
- Engage in research and professional activities commensurate with rank and college accreditation requirements.

The College: The L. William Seidman Center opened in 2013 and houses the Seidman College of Business which is fully accredited by AACSB International. Enrollment in Seidman is over 4,000 students, which includes over 500 undergraduate Accounting majors and 60 Masters of Science in Accounting majors.
