What is your favorite Seidman memory?

My favorite Seidman memory would be the annual Chicago trip with the Investment Portfolio Organization. It was a great learning experience as it was my first trip to a professional conference. In the evenings, we had a great time exploring downtown Chicago. I loved spending time with my friends and classmates from the club.

Our building namesake – Bill Seidman – exhibited many desirable traits of a leader such as innovator, integrity, curiosity and future-minded. How did your experience at Seidman help you develop one or more of these traits?

My experience at Seidman helped me become more future-minded. As I entered GVSU, I wasn't sure where I'd end up within the accounting field. Over the last several years, I was given many opportunities to explore different paths and help me decide where I wanted to be, including participating in Investment Portfolio Organization, Women in Business, internships, and more.

What would you like people in the community to know about Seidman graduates like you?

I want people to know that Seidman graduates are professionals that have been given an outstanding education and a wealth of opportunities to develop their skills and expertise inside and outside of the classroom. Seidman has prepared graduates for great success.

What is your career aspiration?

My career aspiration is to use the accounting skills I've learned work with not-for-profit organizations in the community. I hope that one day I become a strong and successful female CFO.

How did your time at Seidman College prepare you to contribute to your community as a Laker for a Lifetime?

My time at Seidman, in conjunction with my minor in nonprofit administration, has helped me develop the financial skills that many not-for-profits in the community are in desperate need of. Seidman has prepared me for external audit work, as well as, internal accounting work for organizations in the community so that I am ready to contribute in more ways than one.
