Excellence in a Discipline | Entrepreneurship

What is your favorite Seidman memory?

As part of my entrepreneurship courses, I very much enjoyed getting to know other innovators in the Seidman school of business. I particularly enjoyed attending competitions where local entrepreneurs and fellow students presented their new product ideas.

Our building namesake – Bill Seidman – exhibited many desirable traits of a leader such as innovator, integrity, curiosity and future-minded. How did your experience at Seidman help you develop one or more of these traits?

In my entrepreneurship courses, I was able to utilize my developing business knowledge along with my creativity to work on business plans and prototypes for new products. I found this very rewarding and expect this to be very useful in my future career.

What would you like people in the community to know about Seidman graduates like you?

Seidman graduates will come out of their program with a well-rounded business curriculum. This educational experience, along with assignments which allowed us to apply this knowledge to practical real-life situations, gives us a significant advantage as we transition from student to professional.

What is your career aspiration?

While I am still undecided on my exact career aspirations, I am confident that the knowledge through the Seidman program has set me up for success.

How did your time at Seidman College prepare you to contribute to your community as a Laker for a Lifetime?

Through the various assignments in both my Entrepreneurship and Marketing majors, much of the curriculum has tied into protecting the environment or serving our community in other ways. Further, GVSU provides many opportunities for joining organizations that focus on philanthropic opportunities.
