What is your favorite Seidman memory?
My favorite Seidman memory has been building relationships with
my peers and professors. Seidman has some of the best professors, and
I have learned a lot from them, whether that be during class or office
hours. I will always be grateful for the connections I have made at Seidman.
Our building namesake – Bill Seidman – exhibited many
desirable traits of a leader such as innovator, integrity, curiosity
and future-minded. How did your experience at Seidman help you
develop one or more of these traits?
Seidman has helped me develop curiosity and taught me to do
things outside my comfort zone. Through Seidman, I learned about
business study abroad opportunities, which inspired me to take on an
accounting internship in Ireland in the Fall of 2023. It was one of
the best experiences and without Seidman, I don’t know if I would have
done it.
What would you like people in the community to know about
Seidman graduates like you?
The Seidman College of Business focuses on connecting its
students with local businesses throughout Grand Rapids. It provides
many opportunities for students to develop inside and outside the
classroom. We are taught how to work with others and problem-solve,
and we will bring a lot to the workforce.
What is your career aspiration?
My future aspirations include starting my M.B.A. and receiving my
CPA license. Beginning in the Summer of 2025, I will start my career
in International Tax with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Detroit
office, and I hope to make my way back to Grand Rapids in the future!
How did your time at Seidman College prepare you to contribute
to your community as a Laker for a Lifetime?
Seidman has taught me how to have a strong work ethic, and I feel
like I couldn’t have received a better education. I hope to bring the
knowledge and skills I developed at Seidman into any future position,
and I am excited to join GVSU’s alumni as a Laker for a Lifetime!
