What is your favorite Seidman memory?
My favorite Seidman memory has been attending and hosting events with the Economics Club. These fun events have ranged from volunteering in the Grand Rapids area to Axe Throwing as a social event to Resume Building with the Career Center! Additionally, I have loved being able to create relationships with my professors and fellow students.
Our building namesake – Bill Seidman – exhibited many desirable traits of a leader such as innovator, integrity, curiosity and future-minded. How did your experience at Seidman help you develop one or more of these traits?
My experience at Seidman has helped me develop the leadership traits of innovator and integrity. As president of the Economics Club, I had to adapt to the student's needs given the circumstances around COVID. Thinking of creative solutions to entice students to attend events as well as exciting topics for our speakers to present on was a vital part of the Economics Club’s growth. Additionally, integrity is a key trait not only within leaders but within the everyday person.
What would you like people in the community to know about Seidman graduates like you?
I would like people in the community to know that Seidman graduates are hardworking, enduring, and honest people. Especially for the future graduates of the upcoming years, COVID certainly has brought many challenges. However, COVID has only made students stronger, more adaptable to undesiring situations, and provided gratitude to many for things that were taken for granted before the pandemic. Seidman students are ready to enter the workforce with a positive attitude and an ability to overcome obstacles.
What is your career aspiration?
My career aspiration is to work in consulting for a few years after
college. Additionally, a greater goal I have in my career is to use my
career to truly help others and benefit workers in a positive
manner outside of just their careers.
How did your time at Seidman College prepare you to contribute to your community as a Laker for a Lifetime?
My time at Seidman College has prepared me to contribute to my community by valuing building relationships with others. Seidman has so many opportunities to get involved to meet other students, professors, and employers. It is so vital to truly get to know others and learn their story and life.
