Seidman Alumni Board Spotlight - Samantha Riga
Professional Journey Quick Facts:
After graduating from Grand Valley, I joined Align Technology, the manufacturer of Invisalign clear aligners used in orthodontics and iTero 3D digital scanners. I started in the Sales Associate program at the North America headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, and then was promoted to Dental Territory Manager for the Ann Arbor area. In September 2022, I transitioned to a new role at Johnson & Johnson as a Senior Plastic Surgery Sales Representative.
How has Seidman had a role in your journey?
Seidman College of Business taught me the importance of continuing to develop my skillset, taking advantage of every opportunity, and growing my network. This has allowed me to reach my goal of working in medical sales after graduation.

BBA - 2019
Where are you from?
Raised in Plymouth, Michigan. After graduating from GVSU, moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, and now back in the Detroit area
What do you do for fun?
Enjoy spending time in Northern Michigan on Glen Lake or hiking the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes

What has been the most significant professional outcome that came as a result of your GVSU degree from Seidman College?
Nominated as region/team MVP in 2021. GVSU set me up for being a good teammate while exceeding work goals.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room.
