Seidman Pre-Core Curriculum: BUS 201
Basic Legal Concepts
Consists of Jurisprudence, Constitutional law, the Court System, and fundamental legal theories including Crimes, Torts and Contract law. These topics prepare you for the study of law, and the exploration of the basic legal concepts upon which the legal environment of business exists.
Business Organizations
We then apply our legal knowledge to the study of business organizations. We explore sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies. We examine the creation of these entities and the positive and negative implications of each type of business organization.
Business Regulation
We conclude our studies by investigating business ethics and business as a source for good in society. We study specific administrative laws and regulations that substantially impact business operations. This analysis includes bankruptcy, environmental law, employment law and consumer protection regulation and how these rules govern various business functions, such as marketing, sales, accounting and management.
