Tour and Information about the GVSU Interprofessional Simulation Center
The GVSU Interprofessional Simulation Center provides service to all the health-related academic programs at Grand Valley. Lab spaces and equipment such as task trainers, manikins, and supplies are shared by the disciplines in order to create an interprofessional learning environment for students. Specialized spaces include a model living suite, gait analysis lab, biomechanics lab, and an audiology booth. Our state-of-the-art academic facility enables our health professions and nursing students to achieve the highest level of learning.
The Anatomy Lab offers a variety of tools allowing students to interact with different parts of the human body.
Plastinated specimens are authentic human specimens and present an up-close look at human anatomy.
Plastinates are accurate representations of preserved bodies illustrating all functional structures perfectly.
The Anatomage Table is the most technologically advanced 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection tool for anatomy and physiology education.
Users can visualize anatomy exactly as they would on a fresh cadaver.
Anatomage offers 4 gross anatomy cases, more than 20 high-resolution regional anatomy cases, and more than 1,000 pathological examples.
There are several assessment labs in the GVSU Interprofessional Simulation Center.
Each lab is outfitted with either hospital beds, outpatient exam tables, or plinth tables and are utilized by all programs.
With fourteen high-fidelity simulators, nineteen medium-fidelity simulators, and several low-fidelity manikins and task trainers, the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Interprofessional Simulation Center has the opportunity to provide students with an endless amount of lifelike patient care scenarios.
The GVSU Interprofessional Simulation Center Hospital Simulation Suite is equipped with one ICU room, nine medical-surgical hospital rooms, and a maternity suite.
The simulation staff work in an advanced simulator control room to operate the simulator software and portray the voice of the patient assigned for the event.
All of the spaces in the Hospital Simulation Suite have the ability to stream and record encounters allowing students to observe their classmates and watch their encounter later.
