GVSU K-12 Charter School Events
SPM Students Host Youth Teams for Class Project
The Sport Management Program and the Charter Schools Office collaborated with a basketball game with local middle charter schools — GVSU-authorized Vanguard Charter Academy and Walker Charter Academy — meeting on the Fieldhouse’s court for their league contest. The students in SPM 376 (Sport Facility and Event Management) class were behind every aspect of the game experience: greeting players and their families at the entrance, deciding what music is played, coordinating and organizing fan activities during intermissions and creating a fun atmosphere for all.

Paint the Park Pink
April 20th 2023 - SPM 376 created the Paint the Park Pink event this winter semester. They hosted a cornhole tournament, home run derby, coordinated free t-shirts, free Dairy Queen, all in support of their sponsor, the Kelly Cares Foundation.
