• Connect students with faculty early and deliberately
• Increase intentional faculty participation in retention and student support initiatives
• Increase faculty awareness of student support resources
• Increase first-year student retention from fall to winter and from first to second year
• Help students become comfortable with contacting and communicating with faculty
• Provide students with  a faculty member who is specifically identified as a person they can go to with questions or concerns
