Position Title:  Visiting Faculty Member in Statistics 

Required Qualifications and Education:  Evidence of a commitment to teaching excellence and an M.S. degree in Statistics or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in statistics. Experience in, demonstrated understanding of, or interest in social justice education and/or initiatives, and/or inclusion, diversity, and/or intercultural training. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, such as the ability to interact with others with respect and empathy.

Responsibilities:  Duties include teaching 4 sections of an introductory statistics class.  Employment to begin in August of 2023.

About the Department:  The Department of Statistics at Grand Valley State University places an emphasis on teaching excellence and active scholarship. Our department offers a Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Applied Statistics, an undergraduate major in Statistics (with a potential emphasis in Actuarial Science), and minors in Mathematical Statistics and Applied Statistics. We jointly offer a Master’s degree in Data Science and Analytics and a minor in Data Science with the School of Computing Science and Information Systems. Currently our department has approximately 80 graduate students, 120 majors and 150 minors. The department and university are strongly committed to using technology in teaching at all levels.
