288 Lakers Registered to Vote on National Voter Registration Day
October 18, 2019
According to the MI Campus Elections Engagement Director and Michigan Department of State (MDOS), 288 Lakers got registered to vote on National Voter Registration Day (September 24), surpassing the amount of newly registered students at other Michigan campuses.
The GVSU Community Service Learning Center (CSLC) held an event at which a Michigan Secretary of State mobile unit came to campus to help students prepare to vote in the upcoming election. Many students stopped by to get registered to vote or to verify their identities for absentee ballots. The event also helped educate students on the importance of political engagement and making their voices heard.
