Social Media Giveaways

Thanks for participating in a Student Life social media giveaway!

Here are our standard giveaway guidelines:

• Winners are randomly chosen, unless otherwise stated
• We need to be able to reach you through your social media direct messages
• If you do not respond to our message within 48 hours, we will pick a new winner
• You must be a current GVSU student to win
• You must be able to pick up your prize from the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus (we'll DM you the specifics)

Social Media RSO Promotions

In order to make this process fair, we've developed guidelines for promoting your RSO (Registered Student Organization) event on the @gvsustudentlife Instagram. If you're interested in having your post featured on our Instagram story, please send us a DM. Please note that our social media posts are curated by our marketing team, and sending us a post does not necessarily guarantee that it will be posted.

For requests, keep in mind the following: 

• RSO posts are shared on our Instagram when we have the capacity to do so.
• We typically won’t accept requests to feature your RSO more than once a month.

Requirements:

• Featured posts must promote special events, not weekly meetings/events. 
• We only feature posts or stories from RSO accounts (no graphics that haven’t been shared on Instagram, and no posts from your personal account). This way, students can easily find your student org's account and reach out if they have questions.
• The event's time and location must be included in the post or caption.
• All promoted events must be open to all GVSU students.
• Your event must be posted on LakerLink.
• Your organization must be registered with the Office of Student Life and in good standing.

If you want us to re-share an Instagram story, make sure you tag @gvsustudentlife in the story. If you’d like us to share one of your Instagram posts, DM us the post.
