Marisa Kahnt is a Liberal Studies major with an emphasis in Leadership. She also has a double minor in Human Rights and Psychology. Marisa is the vice president of the Phi Mu sorority where she works hard to recognize leadership qualities in others and consistently cheer on her sisters. Her involvement in Greek Life has greatly impacted her life here at GV.
In regards to her Student Life involvement, Marisa says, “I can’t imagine not being involved at GV now. I had a hard time with my transition, but mentors reached out to me about getting involved. I ended up going through recruitment, and I realized that that is where I needed to be. I had sisters that were in clubs and that helped open doors for me.”
When asked to give advice to any first-year students trying to adjust to life at Grand Valley, she stressed how important it is to “Get involved! Make connections and find community. Find your people.”
