Turia Moore is a junior majoring in nursing with a minor in Spanish. She is the co-liason of You Beautiful Black Woman (YBBW) and the financial officer of Living Life to Your Fullest Extent (LLYFE). You Beautiful Black Woman provides an uplifting and supportive environment for Grand Valley’s black female students. Living Life to Your Fullest Extent helps members develop their faith and spirituality with other like-minded students.
Turia felt welcomed by the students at YBBW’s table at Campus Life Night and decided to try it out. She enjoyed the first few meetings she went to and connected with the other members, so Turia decided to keep attending. She now feels that she has changed since joining both organizations, and that she “would not be the person [she] is today” without them. Turia also credits YBBW and LLYFE with challenging her "to grow both personally and professionally," as well as pushing her outside of her comfort zone.
