Valerie Allison is a senior at Grand Valley majoring in allied health science with a minor in biology, and she's also a GVSU Transitions Leader. At Grand Valley, Transitions is the first-year orientation program designed to help students adjust to life at Grand Valley.
Valerie credits the influential Transitions Leaders she had when she first started at GV with encouraging her to keep her "eyes open for the opportunity to become a Transitions Leader." She enjoys being able to assist incoming first-year students with any questions or difficulties they might have adjusting to life in a new setting, as well as the positive environment fostered by other Transitions Leaders who are equally interested in providing a useful experience to all first-year students. Valerie looks forward to seeing the growth in these students and how they will transform into leaders in the Grand Valley community and beyond.
