Involvement Spotlights
Faith Kuzma
November 12, 2019
Faith Kuzma is a senior majoring in natural resources management with a concentration in wildlife biology. She is the president of GVSU Beekeepers, a club dedicated to the conservation and sustainability of honeybees.
Having transferred to Grand Valley in her sophomore year, Faith was initially nervous about getting involved on campus. After getting an email about GVSU Beekeepers, Faith decided to give it a shot. “Because I am passionate about general conservation, and the importance of honeybee conservation has been emphasized in the news lately, I thought that this would be a great opportunity for me to learn more about bees and beekeeping, as well as join my first club.”
Faith credits joining the GVSU Beekeepers with truly enhancing her
time at Grand Valley. “Overall, the GVSU Beekeepers have vastly
improved my experience here at GVSU. This club provided me with a very
hands-on educational experience that would be difficult to simulate in
a classroom setting.” Getting involved has paid off for Faith, and
it’s a decision she’s incredibly thankful for.
