After she learned of the Aspiras Foundation, GVSU public relations major Amelia Wampler co-founded a chapter at GVSU and became the vice president and later president of the organization. The Aspiras Foundation is a non-profit organization that aids children’s soccer clubs in the Dominican Republic. Through their efforts, the GVSU chapter of the Aspiras Foundation has collected hundreds of gear donations and raised over $1,000 for shipping costs, scholarship funds, and COVID-19 relief funds.
In addition, Amelia is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. This prestigious national organization promotes volunteer work, community involvement, and networking opportunities.
Together, these organizations have made Amelia a more connected and
confident leader. In the future, her experience in these organizations
will allow Amelia to skillfully navigate her professional and personal lives.
