Allied Health Science majors within the College of Health Professions
will effectively meet graduation requirements.
Objective 1
Allied Health Science students will complete the appropriate courses
necessary to meet the general education requirements.
Measure 1
2020 Status
Achieved
Of the 264 Allied Health Science students who were eligible to graduate
Winter 2020 and Fall 2020, 25 students (9.5%) got a letter from the
Registrar stating deficiencies were preventing them from graduating on
time. These 25 students had a total number of 68 deficiencies (1.7%);
three of the 68 deficiencies (4.4%) dealt with general education
requirements. This deficiency falls well below the 15% target.
Spring/Summer 2020 data was not available due to covid.
2019 Status
Achieved
Of the 284 Allied Health Science students who were eligible to graduate
calendar year 2019, 25 (8.8%) students got a letter from the Registrar
stating deficiencies were preventing them from graduating on time. These
25 students had a total number of 57 deficiencies (1.3%); two of the 57
deficiencies (3.5%) dealt with general education requirements. This
deficiency falls well below the 15% target.
2018 Status
Achieved
Due to a delay in securing data, the reports for ADV A.1-3 are based on
calendar year rather than school year. This report pertains to the
Winter, Spring/Summer and Fall semesters of 2018. Of the 313 AHS
students who were eligible to graduate in 2018, 37 were deemed
ineligible to graduate. Within this group of students, 0% of the
deficiencies were related to the General Education requirements. This
percentage falls well below the 15% target.

Outcome ADV-B New Student Registration Schedule Check
FTIAC (First Time in Any College) students who declared a College of
Health Professions major at New Student Registration will start their
first semester at GVSU with an appropriate schedule.
Objective 1
As a result of checking the class schedule of each student who declared
a College of Health of Profession's major at New Student Registration,
CHP students will start the fall semester with an appropriate schedule.
Measure 1
2020 Status
Achieved
Due to covid the forms used previously to gather data were altered and
no longer included the information needed to determine accuracy of
schedules. This concludes the New Student Registration Schedule check assessment.
2019 Status
Achieved
2.4% of students who declared a College of Health Profession's major had
errors in their schedules after attendance at New Student Registration.
Outcome ADV-C Student Retention
Students who apply to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and
Cardiovascular Sonography (CVS) programs but are denied admission will
remain at GVSU.
Objective 1
Students will attend a parallel planning workshop to learn about
alternative major options at GVSU, which will increase retention rates
by 5%.
Measure 1
2020 Status
Not Yet Achieved
In 2020, 36 students applied and were not admitted to either the DMS,
CVS, or RT programs. Of that group, 28 (77%) enrolled in courses for
the Fall 2020 semester. 66% (24 students) met with an academic advisor
and 36% (13 students) attended either a group or 1:1 parallel planning
session. For context, most parallel planning sessions are offered
during March/April. The university shut down did force one group
session to be cancelled. That factor could have contributed to the
lower number.
2019 Status
Not Yet Achieved
During the 2019 application cycle, 22 students applied and were not
admitted into either the CVS or DMS program. Of those 22 students, 18%
(4 students) attended a parallel planning workshop. Likewise, 68% (15
students) were retained and registered for classes for the F19/W20
academic year. We hit our threshold for the year and were below the
target percentage.
Measure 2
2020 Status
Not Yet Achieved
The Career Center did away with the Focus 2 and changed over to
PathwayU. This change was implemented in Fall 2020. The PathwayU
program is similar in nature to Focus 2.
2019 Status
Not Yet Achieved
During the 2019 application cycle, 22 students applied and were not
admitted into either the CVS or DMS program. Of those 22 students, 18%
(4 students) completed the Focus 2 exam. Overall, 68% (15 students)
were retained and registered for classes for the F19/W20 academic year.
We did not hit our threshold or target percentage.
