Outcome S Environmental problem solving competency (environment and global development emphasis-specific outcome)
Students will be able to apply their knowledge of core geographic theory
and techniques in problem solving and innovative approaches to
environmental and international development issues (e.g. climate change
mitigation and adaptations, food security, and sustainable development).
Objective 19
Students will be able to access, research, critically analyze,
integrate, interpret, and communicate to professional audiences
scientific data on environmental and development issues across the
globe using geographic theory and techniques.
Objective 20
Students will develop cooperative strategies, analytical and
problem-solving skills for appropriate actions to balance considerations
of ecological integrity, geopolitical and cultural context, and economic
development needs.

Objective 21
Students will be able to construct conceptual and computerized models of
the global and regional development pathways, evaluate human
vulnerability to environmental changes, and develop mitigation and
adaptations scenarios based on interpretation, integration, and analyzes
of biophysical , demographic, and socio-economic data.
