To demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities in the TR process
Objective 1
Students will be able to demonstrate skills and abilities in the area of
assessment, treatment and program planning, facilitation and leadership,
evaluation, and documentation as related to carrying out the TR process.

Due to significant operational and staffing changes occurring at the
partner organization at the beginning of the semester/course start, the
Therapeutic Recreation faculty were unable to implement this specific
project. A modified assignment was implemented over a shorter period of
the semester.

expectation (3), above expectation (4), or exceeds expectation (5),
demonstrating their competency on the assessment, planning,
implementation and evaluation process during their clinical internships.

Achieved. 100% of students (35/35) were rated at a 3.0 or higher on a 5
point scale related to their skills using the therapeutic recreation
treatment process.

relevant to professional practice.

Students will demonstrate the ability to work together and share the
workload equitably to progress toward shared goals, such as programming,
leadership/facilitation, interventions, and research, over the course of
a semester.

Objective 1
Students will synthesize and apply knowledge, experiences and
perspectives obtained during coursework to placement experiences
(fieldwork and internship) to increase understanding of professional
practice and working with individuals with disabilities.

information and ideas, and then synthesize conclusions to make
recommendations through a semester long research project.

score was 6.9 out of 7 for this question. 84% rated it as great (7), 8%
as 6, 4% as 5. No students rated this item average (4) or lower.
Therefore, 96% of students indicated an understanding of research in
this course.
Outcome TR - F Problem Solving
Design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions.
Objective 1
Students will design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended
questions related to consumers of TR services and professional issues
throughout their coursework.

served by recreational therapists (e.g., pediatrics, older adults,
people with physical disabilities, and people with behavioral health
issues).
