Voting
Voting for the 24-25 Student Senate opened March 18 and closed at 5 p.m. on March 25. Only currently enrolled GVSU students are eligible to vote.
Voting Instructions / Overview
On the ballot, students will select candidates for the following positions:
- Student Body President and Vice President
- College Representatives: based on one of the seven GVSU Colleges that a student’s major falls within.
- Please note, there is no current candidate running for a Brooks College Representative seat
- Students may vote for up to one representative for their college; CLAS voters can vote for up to two representatives.
- At-large student senators: students can vote for up to five representatives.
Write in Instructions
Students can write in a candidate for either a college representative seat or an at-large seat on the ballot. The name of the write in candidate must exactly match the student name as it appears in banner and the student must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.25
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be available for General Assemblies on Thursdays at 4:30pm
Voter selection will be based on the highest number of votes received.

Petitions to get on the ballot in the Winter elections closed on Feb. 29 at 5 p.m.
