Learn more about social justice, business, leadership, race, culture, religion, or your area of focus in Integrative Studies while studying abroad. Study abroad can adapt to your specific or broader interdisciplinary interest. Develop your own study abroad experience, by choosing the country, program, university, and classes you want to be in.
Whether you want to take courses on the African Diaspora at the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), immerse yourself with local students at the University of Sunshine Coast (Australia), or volunteer for the community at John Cabot University (Italy). Students interested in combining their study abroad experience with an internship, or just looking to do an internship have some options as well. Customized internships are available through GVSU Internships, and other programs such as ELAP and World Endeavors.
Academic Advice

- Be sure to meet with your adviser at least 3 months before departing for your program.
- Prioritize your goals. Consider your long-term academic and professional goals, as well as your on-campus degree requirements.

Restrictions
- Integrative Studies students may NOT take INT 100, 310, and 495 abroad.
- Courses will be evaluated on a case to case basis through the course equivalency process.
Keep in Mind
- Once you have selected a program, be sure to meet with your adviser at least three months prior to departing for your program.
- Be sure to explore both GVSU and external options by browsing the Program Suggestions below. Students are not limited to GVSU study abroad programs.
- There are several opportunities to intern and or volunteer while abroad.
- Students are also able to fulfill General Education requirements abroad, including their General Education Issues requirement.
