Biomedical Sciences Abroad
Imagine shadowing doctors in a Peruvian health center, taking X-rays of the lungs of tuberculosis patients, and performing anthropometrical assessments of malnourished children in a community. All this while being immersed in the culture and language of the host country would be an unforgettable and transformative experience for a future health professional.
Biomedical science students have a wealth of study abroad opportunities, ranging from coursework in the sciences or electives to immersion in clinical settings. The ideal case for most students would be to do a study experience during the school year to enable a four-year graduation and/or a summer experience interning abroad.
