Description
Interested in studying abroad on the GVSU Scotland: Writing in Action program? Join us for this upcoming info session with the program directors!
Come learn about a six-credit (WRT 357 & WRT 490) program that provides students with writing instruction while interning for a Scottish charity. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, this program allows students to gain professional researching and writing experience with Scottish charities while taking action to help them address social problems in Scotland.
Highlights
- Gain workplace writing experience in an international context
- Intern for a charity in Edinburgh (such as St. Columba’s Hospice, Scotland’s Garden Scheme, Equality Network, for example) who are in need of professional writing projects.
- Explore rich cultural history of Scotland through field trips, which may include a Edinburgh Castle, Holyroodhouse Palace, Royal National Museum of Scotland, King Arthur’s Seat, Stirling, and Glasgow.
*Fulfills (1) General Education Issues course requirement AND a Supplemental Writing Skills (SWS) course. Reflection required
