Emeli Winkels, Spain
My study abroad experience was transformative, marked by meaningful connections and unforgettable travel adventures. Staying in hostels allowed me to meet people from all over the world, like a German couple in Portugal, and experience local cultures up close. The warmth of the Spanish people made me feel at home, especially during a memorable visit to a local church where I was welcomed like a celebrity. Initially, adjusting to life in Spain was challenging, but stepping out of my comfort zone helped me embrace the unique histories, landscapes, and cultures of Spain, Portugal, and Italy. The journey taught me the value of cultural exchange, the importance of building connections, and the joy of discovering new places.
