Alan Carter, Spain
As a sophomore abroad for an academic year I never would have imagined how much of an impact study abroad would have on me. I am living the dream in Salamanca, Spain, which has become my home away from home. I have been so lucky to be able to intern within the University of Salamanca, one of the oldest universities in the world, as a teacher's assistant. Where I work alongside the professors, as we teach concepts of business, geography, history, and English phonetics to college students. In addition, the university is so welcoming that I was able to participate in the Universidad de Salamanca Choir where I got to perform in a church of a nearby town, as well as, in Salamanca.
These connections have created so many friendships both locally and internationally, and they will all be held so close to my heart. I would not change a thing about my experience here, and would highly recommend others to go out and explore the world. The opportunity awaits, you just have to go for it!
