Program Details: University of Perugia
Is this program for me?
Note: The University of Perugia exchange is currently only for GVSU faculty.
The University of Foreigners Perugia hosts guests from all over the world who are eager to learn the Italian language. Students will be required to pass Italian at a level B2 or higher to take courses at the University of Perugia. During the fall semester, guests take courses taught in Italian with Italian students at the University of Perugia, one of Europe’s oldest universities (founded in 1308!). This University is a very traditional Italian University in terms of the curriculum, and organizational structures. Guests are expected to pay very close attention to lectures since many of the examination questions will be based on the lectures. Exams are often oral exams rather than written.
The Perugia exchange program requires guests to attend both partner universities for the full duration of the program (July - December). While there are some basic support services available, participants should not expect to receive the same level and types of support they are accustomed to at home.
Course offerings at the University of Perugia include the following subjects: law, international relations, political science, communications, social work, economics, history, sociology, anthropology, demography, statistics, and research methods.
