Name: Mackenzie Schlitt Major: International Relations Program: Roehampton University Traveled Abroad Before: Yes
Q: What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of your study abroad experience? A: The first thing that comes to mind is the amazing people I got to meet through the program.
Q: Why did you choose this destination? A: I have always been interested in the UK, its always seemed like a very different place that still provided some similar comforts of home.
Q: What are some things that surprised you about the campus, the classes, the culture, customs or traditions? A: The classes were surprising, my university would have only 3 classes that would meet usually once a week for 3 hour lectures and there were more class set ups than we have at gvsu.
Q: What are some things you would like students to know about studying abroad in this destination or the program provider you studied with? A: I would not recommend the program I did, there were a lot of issues with getting information needed in a timely fashion. They also were not very good about communication before the program and during the time I was there. Regardless I would always recommend London, it was so easy to get around and pretty easy to understand things like public transportation.
Q: What advice would you offer? A: I would recommend going out of your comfort zone. Youll regret not doing things so do as much as you can.
Q: What was your academic goal while studying abroad? A: My goal was to get as much out of classes as I could. I also wanted to learn about the culture as much as the academic classes.

Q: What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of your study abroad experience? A: Adventure. Between food, traveling and classes everyday was an adventure.
Q: Why did you choose this destination? A: I wanted to go someplace that English was the main language. Ormskirk was a great location for traveling to because you are a 30 minute taxi ride from Manchester and Liverpool airports.
Q: What are some things that surprised you about the campus, the classes, the culture, customs or traditions? A: When I went shopping, there were some places that I had to pay for the bag. You have to go to lecture and a seminar for each of your classes. Grades are only based on 1-2 papers. They party and drink every night, not just on the weekends because there is a bar on campus.
Q: What advice would you offer? A: Just go and experience everything you can! Study Abroad is an amazing experience.
