Starting Your Scholarship Search
When looking for scholarships your search should always begin at GVSU's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. https://www.gvsu.edu/financialaid/scholarships-157.htm. The two buttons "Endowed" and National/Local add new ones frequently so keep checking back.
Or check out GVSU's Office of Fellowships https://www.gvsu.edu/fellowships/
From there you can begin searching for local, state and national scholarships. Don't forget the Endowed Scholarships. These scholarships may say they "prefer" a specific major or qualification - this means you can apply if you meet all the other requirements. If it says "required" then you must match all requirements. Take a chance. And, always check out myScholarships https://www.gvsu.edu/financialaid/myscholarships-163.htm for GVSU funded scholarships.

American Society of Safety Professionals
Over 100 scholarships or educational grants! https://foundation.assp.org/scholarships-and-grants/?_ga=2.51075625.1473521678.1540406352-1912964088.1540406352
Since 1990, the ASSP Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and professional education grants to students beginning their studies in occupational safety and professionals seeking to continue their education. We offer nearly 150 awards each year ranging from $500 to $15,000 each. More than 1,300 safety students and professionals have advanced their careers, thanks to the generosity of the safety community.
Applications for both scholarships and grants are accepted online from September 1 through December 1 each year. Only a single application must be filled out for either program to be eligible for all available awards. If selected for an award, you will be matched with one based on the criteria set forth by the fund’s donor. Scholarship and grant applicants will be notified in April as to the status of their application. Funds are disbursed shortly afterward for scholarships, or upon receiving documentation of professional education for grants.
