GVSU Scholarships
- Fredrick S. Singer Memorial Veterans Endowed Scholarship: Assists US Military veterans with the cost of a GVSU degree.
- WGVU LZ Michigan Scholarship Endowment: This scholarship was established by WGVU Public Media to support Veterans and/or dependents.
- Lt. William Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship Endowment: Benefits students who serve in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, active or reserve, and for any honorably discharged veterans.
- Grand Valley Folds of Honor Scholarship scholarship is intended for students who have an immediate family member (spouse or parent) who killed in the line of duty while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.
- Must be a resident of the State of Michigan
- Must annually file the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA)
- Must be a full-time student and be meeting satisfactory academic progress

Renewal Criteria: Scholarship is renewable for a maximum of eight consecutive semesters provided the recipient maintains eligibility.

West Michigan Alliance for Veterans (WMA4V) Housing Assistance Program
The West Michigan Alliance for Veterans currently provides services to West Michigan Veterans through several programs, including the Veteran's Housing Assistance Program. The Housing Assistance Program assists veterans with rent or mortgage payments while attending college full-time. This is a tangible way for the West Michigan Alliance for Veterans to make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families while they pursue a higher education or trade school certification.

West Michigan Veterans Coalition Armed Forces Scholarship
The West Michigan Veterans Coalition Armed Forces Scholarship of $1000 is available to currently serving, retired or honorably discharged Service Member of the United States Military including those that have served in the National Guard or Reserves.
Active Duty, National Guard, Reserves, Retired and honorable Discharged Service Members who are currently attending either a College, University or Trade School. The scholarship can be used to support school expenses such as books, tuition, transportation, housing, etc. The WMVC Veterans Scholarship is only available to veterans living in Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, and Ottawa Counties.

Welcome Home Scholarship Fund - $3,000 award
For men and women returning home from active duty deployment in Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom and honorably discharged within the last three years. (Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation)
National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM) Veteran Support Grant (VSG)
The use of a National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM) Veteran Support Grant (VSG) is intended to assist veterans in need. Veterans; families and organizations that support veterans of Michigan (directly or indirectly); current members of NGAM; and other currently serving military members of Michigan may apply. To see if you qualify, please follow the steps below.
Virtually all approved grant funding will fall into at least one of the following categories:
- Funding for medical bills
- Funding for utilities and other normal monthly bills
- Funding for necessary home and automobile repairs
It may be worth seeking other sources of assistance if your request does not fall into one of the categories above, although we welcome any and all applicants.
